Our Anniversary

Rushing River Park

A long overdue update after a very long few weeks...

We packed up and headed to Canada the last week in June. My mom and stepdad have a beautiful cabin just outside of Sioux Narrows, Ontario on Lake of the Woods. Troy and Mark and Adam and Anne were also able to make the trip. I had not been up there since Raegan was a baby and I was pregnant with Walker.

Between boat rides, fishing, kayaking, paddle boating, swimming, turtle hinting, campfires, climbing big rocks and exploring the kids were busy. We also went to Rushing River Park, went into Kenora for the Canada Day celebrations, celebrated my birthday and our 8th anniversary! Schedules seemed to have gone by the wayside when we realized that it was still light at 10:30pm. It's hard to have a proper campfire when it is still light out :)I also came to realize that I am chopped liver when the aunts and uncles are around. Raegan and Walker were also known as Stalker 1 & Stalker 2 the entire week. They had tea parties in Uncle Troy and Uncle Marks camper, played a tricky game of hide n seek, went boulder jumping (glad I wasn't there to see that) and learned the art of head banging from Uncle Adam and Auntie Anne. I was able to enjoy daily peaceful walks (I also came to the realization I needed a ipod when I started humming kid songs), took a few naps, laid out on the dock (trying to get rid of the farmers tan I've got going on) and spent some time with just Raegan and Walker while Beckett was spending some quality time with Ahma. Dave and Adam spent the majority of their time catching our dinner. The walleye was incredible. I think Walker has a new favorite food! My mom did an outstanding job cooking for all of us. Some childhood favorites along with some new ones! Thanks Mom! This is hopefully the first of many family trips up to the lake.
